Are you an artist with disabilities, interested in exploring art as a vocational path or career, and have a love for art and the art-making process?
Full Spectrum Studio (FSS) serves adult artists with developmental disabilities and individuals with a mental health diagnosis. Artists must be 21 years of age or older and live in the South Carolina Low Country. Extensive previous art experience is not a requirement, only a genuine interest in the art-making process and developing as a professional artist.
FSS is a fee-for-service program. To become a resident artist at FSS, artists must have the funding or the capacity to meet fee requirements independently. For those unable to meet the fee requirements, The Studio has a limited number of Artist Fellowships/Scholarships available.
Sometimes we just don’t click, so if selected into the program, the first 90 days are viewed as a trial period for the program as well as for the artists. Upon completion of the trial period, FSS Studio staff will sit down with the artist and his/her support team to discuss how things are going and determine whether to continue participation in the program.
